Sculpture Installation
Viaje del Croazon, 2011, or Journey of the Heart, an
installation at window gallery ‘Corner’ at 478 K’ Road, is an expression of
recent Whitecliffe College of Art and Design graduate, Priscilla Hunter’s love
of Mexico.
Although never having actually visited the country, Hunter has
let her imagination run wild with her creation of a collection of exotic and brightly
coloured cacti embedded in an assembly of elaborate and uniquely decorated pots. The cacti, variously quilted, sewn and stuffed,
all express the considerable artistic and handcraft skills of this upcoming talent.
