It began
in Tokyo in 2003 as a gimmick to attract people to an experimental event
space. Nine years on, it’s a worldwide
phenomenon which has spread across Europe, Asia, the US and England.
Literally
meaning chit-chat in Japanese, Pecha Kucha is an evening where 20 creatives and
young designers are each given opportunity to present 20 slides for 20 seconds on a subject of their choosing. It
provides a unique way for people to learn more about the individuals who make up their
community as well as a vehicle for them to get together over a drink.
The K’ Road
chapter of Pecha Kucha is scheduled to takes place at 7.30pm on Thursday 10 May
at Samoa House and promises to deliver the same fast-paced, variety-packed
entertainment the event has become renowned for globally.
